Every child’s path is unique. Our role is to support them in finding their way.
Our Early Intervention services are designed for children aged 0-7 years. As a neuro-affirming, play-based practice, we offer a blend of one-on-one and small group sessions tailored to each child’s developmental needs. Through creative expression, sensory play, and meaningful connection, we help children grow their skills, confidence and capacity to engage with the world around them - all while feeling safe, seen and supported.

Social Engagement: Building connections with peers and adults through shared attention, interaction, and play.
Emotional Regulation: Developing the capacity to recognise, express, and manage emotions in a safe and supported way.

Individualised Support Plan: A customised plan designed specifically for your child, outlining goals and strategies for their development.
Collaboration with Early Childhood Centers and Schools: We partner with educational settings to ensure seamless support for your child. Our team is available for on-site visits to provide additional assistance and facilitate effective communication with staff.
Parent Education Programs: We provide parent education through programs like the Circle of Security approach, equipping you with valuable tools and strategies to support your child's development at home.

Educator Approach
What does support look like?
Sessions are 50 minutes and children typically attend once each week. Depending on your child's needs and goals, they may attend an individual session, a small-group session, or a combination of both. Some children benefit from multiple individual sessions across the week.
Sessions are individualised to each child's strengths, interests, developmental needs and goals, with play providing a meaningful and motivating context for learning.
Who can access Early Intervention?
Nurture Cottage provides early intervention for children from birth to 7 years who may benefit from additional support with their learning and development.
A formal diagnosis is not required to begin a conversation with us. If you have concerns about your child's development or feel they may benefit from additional support, we encourage you to get in touch. We can talk with you about your child's needs, the support we provide and whether Nurture Cottage may be the right fit for your family.
NDIS & funding
Our early intervention services may be accessed through NDIS funding where the support is consistent with a child's NDIS plan and goals. Families may also access our services privately.
If you're unsure about your child's NDIS eligibility or how funding may apply, we can help you understand the options and point you towards the appropriate information and supports.
