Our Weekly Program

Melody Makers Tuesday 11:30 - 12:20pm

Melody Makers invites you to experience the joy of musical play and sensory exploration with your little one. Designed for babies aged 3 months to 1 year and their caregivers, these sessions offer a nurturing space for connection β€” both with your baby and with other mums, dads, and carers.

Led by our Early Childhood Teacher, Anna, each session unfolds as a slow-paced, rhythmic morning of music, movement, and sensory discovery. We begin together with guitar-led songs, blending familiar nursery rhymes with much-loved children’s music. From there, babies are captivated by puppet play and simple felt-board stories that offer gentle visual engagement.

As the session continues, we introduce movement using props such as rainbow scarves, followed by a much-loved bubble experience. Babies are then invited to explore sound through hands-on musical play, experimenting with egg shakers, bells, and rattles. We finish with time in our sensory room, where little ones can explore soft lighting and glow-in-the-dark features in a calm, magical setting.

Toddler Tinker Time Wednesday 9:30 - 10:20am

Toddler Tinker Time is a relaxed, play-rich session designed for toddlers aged 1–3 years and their caregivers. Rather than a structured group gathering, children are invited to freely explore the Cottage, following their curiosity and engaging with experiences that capture their interest β€” an approach that is developmentally appropriate for this age and stage.

The environment is thoughtfully prepared with open-ended, hands-on experiences that encourage exploration, experimentation, and early self-expression. Toddlers move at their own pace, choosing where to play, what to investigate, and how long to stay with an experience.

Our early childhood educator, Simone, is present throughout the session to observe, support, and gently scaffold children’s learning through play, responding to individual interests and emerging skills.

Toddler Tinker Time offers a beautiful opportunity for children to begin exploring the world beyond home in a safe, calm, and stimulating environment. It supports early social experiences and the beginnings of friendships, and is particularly beneficial for children who are not yet attending other early childhood education and care settings.

With small group sizes (maximum of 8 children) and low-demand support from parents or caregivers, this session provides a gentle, supported entry into group play β€” nurturing confidence, connection, and a love of learning.

Expressive Explorers Thursday 9:30 - 10:20am

Expressive Explorers is a rich, play-based session for children aged 2–5 years and their caregivers that supports creativity, emotional expression, and curiosity through open-ended play experiences. Designed for preschool-aged children, these sessions provide an inspiring environment where children are free to follow their interests, ideas, and imagination at their own pace.

As children enter our Creative Play Studio, they are welcomed into a thoughtfully prepared space filled with hands-on learning provocations. Experiences may include sensory exploration, STEM play, imaginative worlds, loose parts play, and process art invitations that encourage children to think creatively, problem solve, and express themselves through play.

Our Early Childhood Educator, Simone, gently leads and supports the session, moving alongside the children as they play, explore, and connect. With small group sizes (maximum of 8 children) and a warm, nurturing atmosphere, Expressive Explorers offers children and caregivers a beautiful opportunity to slow down and connect through play together. Parents can enjoy a thoughtfully prepared environment without the stress of setting up or packing away activities at home, while children engage in meaningful, child-led learning experiences.

Sensory Safari Thursday 2:30 - 3:20pm

Sensory Safari is a gentle, sensory-rich play session for babies aged 5–15 months and their caregivers. Designed to support early exploration and connection, these sessions provide a calm and nurturing environment where babies can engage with sensory experiences at their own pace, supported closely by a trusted adult (mums, dads, grandparents are all welcome).

Led by our Early Childhood Educator, Simone, sessions begin by gathering together on the mat to explore a themed treasure basket, thoughtfully prepared to encourage babies to explore different textures, sounds, movements, and materials in a safe and engaging way.

A special part of Sensory Safari is the opportunity for babies to explore messy and sensory-rich materials that are often difficult to set up at home. Across the term, children may engage with experiences such as paint, clay, water play, taste-safe sensory invitations, and other hands-on messy play opportunities designed to spark curiosity and exploration.

With small group sizes (maximum of eight babies) and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, Sensory Safari offers caregivers a beautiful opportunity to slow down, connect with their baby, and enjoy meaningful moments together in a thoughtfully prepared environment with other caregivers.

Saturday Creative Play Saturday 9:30 - 10:20am

Saturday Creative Play is a mixed-age, play-based session for children aged 1–8 years and their caregivers. Designed to bring families together through play, these sessions provide a warm and welcoming space where children can explore, create, and learn alongside one another in ways that feel natural, engaging, and meaningful.

Led by our Early Childhood Educator, Simone, each 50-minute session includes a thoughtfully prepared mix of sensory play, process art, STEM exploration, imaginative play, and hands-on creative experiences. With a wide age range, activities are intentionally open-ended and adaptable, allowing children at different developmental stages to participate in ways that suit their individual interests and abilities.

Children are encouraged to follow their curiosity, experiment freely, and engage with experiences at their own pace, while caregivers are invited to slow down and enjoy meaningful moments of connection through play together.

Saturday Creative Play is the perfect session for families wanting a relaxed and enriching weekend experience. It is especially ideal for siblings, as well as for parents and caregivers who work during the week and are looking for intentional time to connect, play, and enjoy a thoughtfully prepared space alongside their child β€” without the stress of setting up or packing away activities at home.

Why Play Matters

Play is how children make sense of their world. It’s where they build relationships, explore ideas, express big feelings, and grow confidence in who they are.

At Nurture Cottage, we honour play as the foundation for learning. In our calm, nurturing environment, children are free to follow their curiosity, make choices, and engage in rich, open-ended experiences that support every area of development β€” from communication and creativity to problem-solving and emotional regulation.

When children feel safe, seen, and supported in play, they flourish.
